Andrea Suk
Bio
Dr. Andrea Suk is an Assistant Professor at Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é, where she brings a deep passion for supporting students with disabilities through research, teaching, and community engagement. She earned her Ph.D. in Special Education from the University of Oklahoma, with a research focus on transition planning and applied behavior analysis.
Dr. Suk began her career as a high school special education teacher in Illinois and Arizona, where she specialized in preparing students for life beyond graduation. She earned her Master’s degree in Secondary Special Education and Transition from the University of Kansas, which led to her work as a transition specialist in Texas. In that role, she developed over 150 individualized transition plans for students across middle and high school settings.
Dr. Suk has been recognized nationally for her commitment to student success. She was named ACE Mentor of the Year in Phoenix for her leadership in the Architecture, Construction, and Engineering mentoring program, received the Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year Award in Glendale, Arizona, and was a recipient of the Target Field Trip Grant.
In addition to her academic and professional accomplishments, Dr. Suk is a certified therapeutic horseback riding instructor, blending her dedication to inclusive education with her passion for animal-assisted interventions.
